Prison Phone have been saving inmates at HMP Usk money on their calls from the prison to any UK mobile phone since 2013.
We do this by allocating a dedicated and secure local number to your mobile phone, this means when the inmate at Usk prison calls the new local number we have provided they will be charged at just the local landline rate (around 10p per minute) rather than the standard mobile rate (which is around 40p per minute).
This in turn helps to stretch the inmates PINS phone credit further and reduces the amount you need to send in for them to top up!

HMP Usk is a category C prison in Usk, Monmouthshire. Opened in 1844, the prison has capacity hold 273 male inmates. HMP Usk is a part of an amalgamation of two prisons: Usk and Prescoed in Coed-y-paen.
The accommodation is made up of four wings, of which three (A, B and C) are two-storey landings and one a single-storey unit, commissioned in 2003.
Inmates from HMP Usk are employed in The Clink in Cardiff from HMP Usk/Prescoed, and a group were seen in a park, drinking cider, and reporters worry they were smoking Spice (a synthetic cannabis).
The prison holds only sex offenders, and restricts the hold of those in denial. Those to be received by HP Usk must be in security categories C or D, with a minimum of 6 months left to serve, or no less than 9 months until their tariff expiry date.
