Book to visit any UK inmate online.

When visiting a prison you have two choices, The first is to call the prison visits booking line and book your visit over the phone which can take an extremely long time, or you can request a visit online using the system provided by NOMS.

When requesting a visit online you will need to choose up to three dates and times then once the prison visit centre receive the request they will process it and email you a confirmation of the time and date of the visit.

When visiting a prison you will need to take at least 2 forms of identification, This can be a passport or driving license and a recent bill in your name and home address.

Its vital that you take I.D with you along with your booking confirmation as you may be refused entry without these.

When visiting a prison there are a few things you need to consider, remember you will be entering a secure environment so telephones and cash must be left in the lockers provided. Most prisons allow you to take coins in to purchase items from the canteen during your visit however the amount is limited to around £10 and must be in a clear money bag (the type you get from the bank is best).

If you require assistance with the cost of visiting a prison you may be able to get financial help if you’re over 18 and are claiming one of the following:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Universal Credit
  • Tax credits
  • Pension Credit
